Purpose: The purpose of this course is to train up new technicians and catch up technicians who haven’t studied the necessary company policies to understand company basics like reports and turning in time cards.

End Product: By the end of this course, you will understand how to turn in various reports and will be introduced to the company and how we operate.

How it is Done:

  • A “checksheet” is a series of steps, done one by one, to achieve a final product in learning. As you go through the course, you will mark off each step as done by initialing with a date of completion (e.g. A.B. 3/31/17).

  • For each “Read” step, you are to simply read the policy, directive, or bulletin in the assignment. If any have a * next to the assignment, there will be a short quiz to ensure you understand what you just read.

  • Any “Practical” or “Drill” sections will have explanations on certain things you can do to help you learn more about what you just read and will prove you can apply what you learned. You will not be able to move onto the next step without submitting a picture or video of the assignment.

  • Sometimes there will also be “Sketch” steps. On each one of those, you will need to do a sketch either on your computer or notebook and upload the photo so it can be reviewed. You will not be able to continue on the course until your sketch has been approved by the Training Department.

  • “Essay” steps should be turned in the same as sketches. They should not be “short cut.” Be sure to really think about what the essay is for, and describe what is being asked for to the best of your ability.

  • At the end of the course there will be a test to show your knowledge. Your progress in learning will also be viewed by how you perform on the job.

  • You are allotted 30 minutes of paid study time before every work day. Be sure to add this to your time cards as you study.
